It’s fair to say Belgian football is booming at the moment.
The Premier League is littered with star players from the land of fine chocolate with the likes of Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, Chelsea ace Eden Hazard and Everton forward Romelu Lukaku all plying their trade in England.

Few English footballers make it in the Spanish league. David Beckham and Michael Owen are notable exceptions who showed off their talents on the Spanish football pitches. Now talented centre-half Charlie I’Anson is following in their footsteps. He moved from Grimsby Town to play football in Spain. He was taken on by Elche, who won promotion to the first division this season, playing against the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona for the first time in 24 years.
